October Classroom Activities
In October, we explored the symbols and signs of the season and Halloween. We carved pumpkins, though many students found the slimy insides uncomfortable! We had a visit from the fire brigade, where the students got to sit inside the truck, spray water from the fire hose, and interact with real firefighters, which was a lot of fun.
We had a special sensory art experience with our art teacher-Orla, and went on a scavenger hunt, where Alif found a green tractor. We also looked for colourful leaves and discovered some dogs along the way.
During one-on-one work, we focused on learning numbers and colours, and practised brushing teeth as part of our daily routine. The students are not only building independence, but also developing their understanding of self-care, social skills, and environmental awareness. Additionally, we are making great progress with our travel training and becoming familiar with road safety.
Everyone is really enjoying our PE classes and visits to the relaxation zone, which has been a wonderful part of our routine. There’s still so much more for us to discover as we continue our October activities!
